Matcha Tea has been used for millennia in Japan in the popular tea ceremonies. It is made of tea leaves grown in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight and stimulating the growth of chlorophyll. Only the finest tea buds are collected and dried to create the fine bright green powder. It has a unique and distinctive flavour. The higher the quality, the sweeter and less astringent the taste. To prepare Matcha tea add 1/2 teaspoon of Matcha tea to a glass of hot water and mix until completely dissolved. Other uses: Add 1 teaspoon of Matcha to smoothies, shakes or used in numerous pastry dishes.
